Every piece in this series starts the same way, a single brushstroke on a randomly selected playing card, with no destination in mind. I wait for something to reveal itself.
This one surfaced from a memory I hadn't thought about in months: a parent balancing a tennis ball on a traffic cone so their child could practise hitting. An ordinary image, somehow lodged. It found its way here.
A small study in how unexpected memories become visual language and how something as familiar as a traffic cone can become worth looking at again.
